Description Citizens Bank Park is the new home to the Philadelpia Phillies of Major League Baseball. The official opening was on April 12, 2004, where the Phils took on the Cincinnati Reds. Citizens Bank Park is one of many new stadiums built around the country that was specifically designed and constructed for optimal enjoyment of the game of baseball. Done up in the classic style of baseball stadiums of long ago, but with the added benefit of great modern conveniences, restaurants, and other ancillary services.
The basic design and structure was done in that multi-story building includes the main ballpark area, team offices, open plazas, stadium seating and an open-air concourse that holds great recreational fun and food services. Stadium seating is created in a seating bowl fashion, which by design was created in a manner that offers many angles that offer fantastic views from each of the 43,500 seats. Fans looking for instant replay, team informaiton, player stats, or around the league scores, can look above the seats to the main scoreboard/video board.
Fans will find a real treat in the outfiled concourse area. This area is known as Ashburn Alley. It can best be described as just one big area of FUN. Recreational activities, a slew of dining and food choices and just the general atmosphere make this area of Citizens Bank Park an attraction unto itself. Specifically Ashburn Alley features amenities for family fun, picnic eating areas, concession stands that offer cold drinks and specialty sandwhiches like Philly Cheestakes and Sausages on a roll. Other features of this area include All Star Walk; a tribute to the many all stars, views of bullpens, recreational games, and memory lane.
Looking for a great bite to eat check out these great places. Brewerytown which offers local, domestic and import beers and brew. The Bulls BBQ. This is a picnic style area, organized by fame former Phil Greg Luzinski. Visitors can enjoy great BBQ specialies like pit beef, barbecued ribs, pit turkey, pulled barbecue pork, and barbecue turkey legs. Other great places include Crab Fries, Genos Steaks (offering famed Philly Cheesestakes), Planet Hoagey, the Old City Creamery and Tony Lukes.
For those guests and visitors with disabilities, Citizens Bank Park was designed in an effort to make the facilities as accessible and enjoyable as possible.
